We are delighted to announce that we are the new home of Sunderland Strollers. Every Wednesday, the Beacon will play host to Sunderland Strollers main club night, usually with over 60 runners turning out.

Thanks to Sunderland AFC and Foundation of Light’s collaboration with BornGood, supporters can now access free-to-use laptops at the Beacon of Light.
We are inviting families to gather around our big screen and enjoy some new and classic family movies.
After the exciting news of the collaboration between University of Sunderland and Beacon of Light, the Beacon is set to host its official student open day on Wednesday 31 January.

It was a weekend to remember at the Beaconof Light as we hosted our firstever boxing event. A sold-out event saw 1,400 people cheer on ‘one of our own’ as Sunderland’s Josh Kelly picked up a thirdround win against Placido Ramirez in the main event.
