Beacon of Light hosts Foundation's Utilita Football Festival
Beacon of Light was delighted to welcome almost 2,000 through its doors for the Utilita Football Festival.
Beacon of Light’s family friendly Sunderland AFC Fan Zone returns for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Since launching in 2018, the official matchday Fan Zone has become a key pre-match stop off, especially for Black Cats families with a range of activities available for both children and parents.
Fun for Everyone
Young fans can enjoy free kickabouts on the outdoor pitches, plus new football challenges this season, including the target goal and speed cage in the indoor arena. There’s also EA FC gaming on Xbox and colouring activities for younger children.
Food and Music
The Yard Nine café serves a variety of food alongside both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to provide ideal refreshments before heading to the turnstiles. A live DJ will build the atmosphere with music, interviews, and team announcements.
Exclusive Collectibles
Another exciting addition to this season’s Fan Zone is a chance to get your hands on exclusive Sunderland AFC trading cards. A new, free, limited-edition card featuring Sunderland AFC players will be available each gameweek, only at the Fan Zone.
Collect them all to win a special prize!
Opening Times
The Fan Zone will open from 12:30pm ahead of this weekend’s season opener against West Ham, shutting half an hour before the 3pm kick-off.
Throughout the season, the Beacon of Light Fan Zone will open two-and-a-half-hours ahead of kick-off and close 30 minutes prior.
What’s On:
Beacon of Light was delighted to welcome almost 2,000 through its doors for the Utilita Football Festival.
Ahead of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup opener at the Stadium of Light, the Beacon of Light will have to close on the day of the game, due to transport restrictions.
As part of the Beacon’s commitment to making sport accessible and our goal to keep young people active over the summer, we are offering junior rates until Sunday 7 September.
