Beacon of Light proudly hosted the Sunderland Business Improvement District’s Business Breakfast.
Foundation of Light’s Lesley Spuhler (Chief Executive) and Jamie Wright (Managing Director) were among the panel, discussing the opportunities arising from Sunderland AFC’s return to the Premier League, the ongoing work of the club’s official charity, and the positive developments around the city.
Alongside them were Paul Kingsmore, Chief Operating Officer of Sunderland AFC, and Jill Laverick, Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs at Sunderland City Council. Hosted by Sunderland BID Chief Executive, Sharon Appleby, the discussion provided valuable insight as well as an opportunity to share ideas about building on the economic uplift after a summer of positivity throughout the city.

The event also provided excellent visibility for the Beacon of Light. Regularly hosting Business Breakfasts for the Foundation of Light, the chance to stage Sunderland BID’s event allowed the facility’s versatile space to be showcased to a different audience.
Ahead of the panel discussion, guests were given a chance to network over a breakfast and hot drink courtesy of the Beacon’s Yard Nine Café, with some talks continuing after the event.
