With probably the cheapest football pitches in the North East, the Beacon offers outdoor 3G 5-a-side pitches, our famous indoor 4G rooftop barn equipped with a warm up area, benches and a viewing gallery, and our indoor sports arena where you can play Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Futsal or Table Tennis.

The Beacon is not just about sports though; we also host a variety of exciting events throughout the year. From matchday fan zones to charity galas, and workplace meeting rooms.

 

  1. Your money goes to the Foundation of Light

Any proceeds from the Beacon are donated to SAFC's official charity, Foundation of Light. The Foundation support people from across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham by tackling some of the region's biggest challenges including, obesity, unemployment, anti-social behaviour and poor mental health.

We're the first community hub of our kind in the UK, providing opportunities for all ages and abilities. We are a community hub like no other. A space for sport, events, education and wellbeing which is open to everyone of all ages and backgrounds. Our aim is to create better opportunities and support the community to live better and healthier lives.

Located right next to the Stadium of Light, overlooking the River Wear you can’t miss the Beacon of Light on Stadium Park. The Beacon offers long opening hours and free parking for everyone.
