Black Cats celebrate Historic Season at Beacon of Light
Beacon of Light proudly hosted Sunderland AFC’s End of Season Player Awards, celebrating an incredible 2025/26 campaign.
Beacon of Light is welcoming people across Sunderland to 'Be a Star' and do something good this Christmas as we’re hosting a Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal Tree.
The tree can be located at the Beacon entrance and is decorated with star tags with the recipient's age range and suggested gifts.
To take part, simply take a star from the tree and return your chosen gift to the Beacon of Light reception unwrapped with the star tag.
The deadline to return gifts is Friday 12th December, so these can be wrapped by the Salvation Army and distributed to families in need in time for Christmas.
Every year the Salvation Army distribute over 68,000 Christmas gifts that are lovingly donated across the UK and Ireland, each one a message of hope form someone experiencing hardship, homelessness, or tough times.
You can help them spread the joy of Christmas to families whose children would otherwise not receive a gift.
