New community hub for eye checks gets ready for kick off
South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust has teamed up with the Beacon of Light to launch a new NHS Eye Imaging Hub.

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) will host the Allied Mobility Wheelchair Rugby Nationals this March, bringing teams, officials, and supporters together for a weekend of competitive fixtures and community activity. The event features both Division 1 and Division 2 competitions and is free for all spectators.
The weekend will include live streaming, interviews, and matchday presentation, enabling fans to follow the action both in person and online. GBWR will also be sharing an official event flyer with partners and supporters ahead of the Nationals.
Friday 6 March – Division 2 Shield
Saturday 7 March – Division 1 Cup & Division 2 Shield
These elements are designed to create a welcoming and accessible environment for supporters, newcomers, and families.
The Nationals will include the top four teams from Division 1 and Division 2, with athletes from GB programmes and the wider talent pathway.
