Beacon home of Salvation Army Christmas Appeal Tree
Beacon of Light is welcoming the local community to do something good this Christmas as we’re hosting a Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal Tree.
We are delighted to announce that we are the new home of Sunderland Strollers.
Every Wednesday, the Beacon will play host to Sunderland Strollers main club night, usually with over 60 runners turning out.
Meeting at the Beacon of Light at 6.30pm, you can join Strollers for one of their 5 groups based on your ability and running pace, each led by England Athletics qualified leaders and coaches:
Sunderland Strollers were previously based at Ashbrooke Sports Club for over 40 years, the recent switch to the Beacon has made Strollers became the only England Athletics registered specialist running club based in the North of Sunderland.
Take running as seriously as you like. Strollers cater for every level from absolute beginner through to Olympic level.
Sunderland Strollers refer to themselves as a sociable running club with a sense of humour, with over 300 members, ranging from 21-78.
