Parking update at the Beacon of Light

Visitors to the Beacon of Light are being advised of new parking arrangements for the front car park, which have now come into effect following the completion of new bay markings and signage.

The changes have been introduced to improve access, ensuring dedicated spaces are available for Blue Badge holders and families using the Beacon of Light Nursery.

The front car park is now reserved for:

• Seven Blue Badge parking bays
• Four Nursery drop-off and pick-up bays
• Two shared-use bays, available for either Blue Badge holders or nursery users when required

All spaces are clearly signposted.

If the front car park is full, visitors should use the Stadium of Light's main car parks, with additional accessible parking bays available in the Green Car Park (near the SAFC Club Store)

Evenings and weekends
After 6pm on weekdays and throughout weekends, Blue Badge holders may also use the Nursery drop-off and pick-up bays if additional accessible parking is required.

Deliveries and contractors
Anyone delivering or collecting equipment should use the Service Yard at the back of the building, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.

These changes are designed to improve accessibility and ensure parking remains available for those who need it most.

Can anyone park in the front car park?

You can use one of the shared-use bays if available. If the front car park is full, accessible parking bays are available in the Green Car Park (located next to the Sunderland AFC Club Store)

Can I use the nursery bays if I have a Blue Badge?
Yes. After 6pm on weekdays and at weekends, Blue Badge holders may use the nursery drop-off/pick-up spaces if needed.
