Beacon of Light taking part in Kit Out Sunderland donation initiative
Beacon of Light is collaborating with Sunderland City Council to support Kit Out Sunderland – a sports kit donation initiative.
The new party package at the Beacon of Light is proving to be a game changer.
The gaming party package comes with 90 minutes play time, followed by hot dogs and refreshments in your own private area. With game options including, EAFC 24, Fortnite, Rocket League, Minecraft, Fall Guys and more.
The gaming parties have been hugely popular since launching earlier this year - and our gaming party host Richie is proving just as popular!
We welcomed Nathaniel for his 11th birthday last weekend and received some lovely feedback from his parents.
Nathaniel’s mother, Maria said: “We would like to thank you all from start to finish for the excellent gaming party. All staff from booking to checking in with us prior to the party have been excellent.”
“Despite the fact the building was busy due to the netball it was lovely and quiet upstairs."
"We requested a look in the room and visit prior to the party, this helped alleviate my son's anxiousness.”
“It was also an excellent opportunity to meet the party host Richie. Can we say that Richie was a superstar! So calm and kind to the children who thought the gaming room was "sic!!".”
“My son changed schools last year and had kept in touch through gaming with his close friends."
"Richie recognised this through our conversation as to what we needed from the party, he shared his experience with us of his own disabilities he was clearly tuned in to our son with his excellent work.”
“Richie not only made the party go smoothly he has now inspired a little boy with difficulties as he realises he could be a "Richie" when he grows up! To help and inspire other children and be an excellent role model! He also wanted to let Richie know he has made his party excellent.”

We are excited to host the Utilita Football Festival at the Beacon of Light on Thursday 31 July which will be a day of free activities for all the family.
Sunderland's newest landmark is one step closer to officially being named as voting opens for the people of the city to choose from the shortlisted options.
