Yard Nine sponsors Foundation of Light's Community Clubs
The Beacon of Light’s Yard Nine café is giving their support to the Foundation of Light’s Community Club teams.
Summer at the Beacon was a big success, so we are bringing back some of the favourites with a spooky Halloween twist, including pumpkin decorating and slime club.
We will also see the return of our free movie nights on our big screen, showing Hocus Pocus and the new Haunted Mansion - as voted for by you on our social media poll.
Foundation of Light football courses are also back with the ever popular two and three-day courses returning across the week as well as the return of our ‘Train Like a Pro Day’ where you will receive coaching from SAFC coaches, take part in a range of sessions including strength and conditioning with academy scouts also in attendance.
Take a peek at some of our spooky goings on:
Little Monsters and Halloween Baking – Join us in the kitchen to create some Halloween-themed bakes. (Little Monsters 2-6 years, Halloween Baking 7-15 years)
FIFA Tournament and Kickabout - Players will take part in a FIFA tournament on our Xboxes, then transfer their skills on to the pitch as they're taken through a range of FIFA style drills.
Cage Football – A session consisting of small-sided games where the ball doesn’t go out, with quick decision-making, lots of touches on the ball, brilliant for player development!
Halloween Slime Club – Head to our slime laboratory and create some gruesome slime as our slime club returns for Halloween.
Disability Multi-sports – Enjoy a range of sports including basketball, boxing, hockey, cricket, football and many more.
Halloween Movie Night – Watch Hocus Pocus and Haunted Mansion on our big screen for free (for full info click here)

The Beacon of Light will host a dedicated Remembrance Day Fan Zone ahead of Sunderland AFC’s match against Coventry City.
Baroness Estelle Morris of Yardley, a trustee of Sunderland AFC’s official charity, took part in the conference and called the Beacon ‘a fantastic building’ adding that ‘what happens here is absolutely key.’
