Foundation of Light Day Fan Zone
Foundation of Light Day sees Sunderland AFC dedicate its game against QPR to their official charity as they aim to raise funds to help struggling families live happier and healthier lives. 
The ‘Heart on your Sleeve’ campaign wants to close the gap in health inequalities across the North East.
Not only will the players be wearing commemorative shirts to help raise awareness of the campaign, but there will be a whole host of activities and fundraising initiatives to get involved with in the SAFC Matchday Fan Zone. 
  • Kids from Little Dribblers will be holding a bucket collection - make sure you bring your cash! 
  • Football for all ages on the outdoor pitches
  • Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis 
  • Arts and crafts,
  • Facepainting  (£1)
  • Speedcage (£1) - fastest speed wins a prize
  • Limited edition Heart on Your Sleeve pin badges, footballs and sleeve patches all on sale at the Beacon of Light. 
  • Meet the players and Samson and Delilah in the Fan Zone at the Beacon of Light

How your money can help: 

  • £5 gives a disabled youngster access to a sport session  
  • £8 helps keep an older person physically and socially active  
  • £40 supports a young person with their physical and emotional health 
  • £100 provides mental health resources for up to five people  

 

The dedicated Fan Zone vs QPR will also see the Beacon of Light supporting the Women and Girls in football campaign.
