Beacon of Light will be hosting a dedicated ‘Level Playing Field’ matchday fan zone with the help of the Premier League Fans Fund.
The Premier League Fans Fund supports football clubs at all levels to strengthen connections between them, their fans, and local communities, including initiatives to develop inclusivity for under-represented groups.
Sunderland AFC’s home match against Leicester City on Tuesday 5 March is the second of a series of dedicated matchdays aimed at making the Stadium of Light a place where everybody feels comfortable to watch and support their team.
The dedicated fan zone will see Grace House delivering a disability multi-sport session, and the Beacon will showcase our accessible facilities for disabled supporters such as our sensory room and sensory bags, as well as a number of dedicated stalls, including:
• Grace House
• Northumbria Police
• Sunderland Parent Carer Forum
• Weights and Cakes
along side our usual fan zone offerings such as football drop-ins, FIFA and music.
Sunderland AFC mascots Samson and Delilah will be wearing branded t-shirts, bringing more visibility to the campaign and there will be content shared on the big screens and throughout the matchday programme linked to the campaign.
The fan zone will run from 5.30pm-7.30pm, Tuesday 5 March.
