Foundation of Light are working with Sunderland AFC to support the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ campaign at the West Brom match.
Sunderland AFC are proudly supporting the national anti-racism campaign with a Show Racism the Red Card dedicated matchday for the Championship clash with West Brom on Tuesday 26 November.
Ahead of the match, the Beacon of Light will host a dedicated Show Racism the Red Card Fan Zone, featuring a variety of activities, stalls, and interviews designed to promote anti-racism and inclusivity in football.
The dedicated matchday is being held with the help of the Premier League Fans Fund which supports football clubs at all levels to strengthen connections between them, their fans, and local communities, including initiatives to develop inclusivity for under-represented groups.
Sunderland AFC are committed to making the Stadium of Light an inclusive place where everybody can support their team.
Representatives from Show Racism the Red Card will attend the Fan Zone to chat with attendees and promote their campaign.
The Windrush African Caribbean North-East Football Club will also hold a stall to promote their work within the city. Windrush AC FC brings together local teenagers, many of them descendants of the Windrush Generation, to honour them through football.
Beacon of Light Fan Zones feature a range of inclusive family fun, including:
- Music
- Football Kickabout
- EAFC 24 on Xboxes
- Refreshments from Yard Nine café
Supporters can also access the Sunderland AFC Branch Liaison Council matchday mental health hub with Washington Mind.
Join us at the Fan Zone from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.
