Beacon to be a hive of activity this Easter

Beacon to be a hive of activity this Easter

Beacon of Light will welcome scores of children through its doors for the Foundation’s upcoming Easter Holiday Courses.

We were joined by over 300 people in February, as children aged 4-14 experienced a week to remember.

Participants were treated to a surprise visit from Sunderland teenage sensation, Jewison Bennette, with the Costa Rica International honing his FIFA and football skills.

Once again, the Beacon will provide opportunities for all ages and abilities, offering the perfect setting for attendees to thrive and engage in new activities.

Give your child an egg-cellent Easter at the Beacon of Light.

You can view the full schedule below:

Football: Young people will get the chance to play football in a safe, fun environment, where they can make friends and develop new skills. Children will take part in a range of coaching activities and small-sided games.

Easter Holiday Club: Participants will take part in a range of multi-sport activities, as well as arts + crafts, with appropriate movie options throughout the day. The perfect environment for your child to be creative and try a range of activities throughout the day.

1:1 Coaching: Specific coaching session aiming to develop the participants technique, with high level detail from our UEFA and FA qualified coaches.

Disability Multisports: Participants will take part in a range of multi-sport activities, including dodgeball, handball and basketball. Attendees can bring a sibling for £1.

Disability Football: Participants will enjoy a range of football activities, as well as playing small-sided games. Attendees can bring a sibling for £1.

Cage Football: Players will play in mixed teams where the cage is the condition. The beauty of the cage is the ball never goes out of play, challenging players to showcase their technique, skill and decision-making in a fast paced, high intensity environment.

FIFA Tournament and Kickabout: Players will take part in a FIFA tournament throughout the day while looking to transfer their skills on to the pitch as they're taking through a range of FIFA Skills training games. Participants will also play football matches throughout the day.

Easter Baking Fun: Make Easter chocolate nests before taking part in an Easter egg hunt around the Beacon of Light (includes an Easter egg per paying child).

Fakeaway Good Friday Fish Supper: As a family, learn to cook healthy home-made fish and chips.

Planet Cookies: Celebrate International Day of Human Space Flight by baking earth cookies before taking part in a space-themed craft activity.

Vegetable Patch Brownies: Bake your own tray of triple chocolate brownies before decorating them to resemble a vegetable patch.

STEM Club: Hop over to the Beacon of Light this Easter for our egg-citing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) club! Your child will have the chance to take part in loads of cracking Easter themed games and activities including robot coding, parachute games, spray painting and craft activities. Ears to an awesome Easter!

Little Dribblers Big Day Out: Children aged between 3-5 years old can join us for a Little Dribblers football session, followed by a tour of the Stadium of Light, or a Samson hunt in the Beacon of Light.

Bookings can be made on Foundation of Light’ online booking system.
