Beacon of Light’s movie nights is set to return in February following an incredibly successful launch at the start of the year.
Hundreds of families gathered in front of the Beacon big screen in January to witness ten Disney classics, enjoying free entry, free hot chocolate and free popcorn.
As the credits rolled down the screen following a showing of Toy Story, families were quick to heap praise on the Beacon, highlighting just how much they had enjoyed the event. One parent said: “Spending time with my loved ones, enjoying complementary snacks while watching our favourite film, what’s not to like.”
Another parent commented: “We loved coming and we’re already looking forward to the next lot of movies.”
We recently revealed further movie schedules with different movie themes would be announced. With February often known for being the month dedicated to and all about love, the next set of films that will hit the Beacon big screen will be that of a Valentine’s theme.
Not only is the Beacon’s ‘Warm Space’ about showcasing some of cinema’s all-time greats, it also provides an opportunity for families to spend some quality time with their loved ones.

The Beacon of Light will host a dedicated Remembrance Day Fan Zone ahead of Sunderland AFC’s match against Coventry City.
