Our Yard Nine’café is inspired by Sunderland's shipyards and rich industrial history.
The name pays homage to the city’s shipbuilding traditions, with the Beacon of Light’s location situated by shipyard number nine of the 76 based along the River Wear.
With a locally-sourced menu, featuring a selection of sweet and savoury snacks and hot and cold beverages, Yard Nine is your new one-stop for a quick coffee break, a leisurely lunch, or a spot to catch up with friends.
What sets Yard Nine apart from other coffee shops, is that all profits will directly support the Foundation of Light, the charitable arm of Sunderland AFC.
The Foundation is dedicated to helping families stay physically and mentally active through sport and education, helping people to live happier and healthier lives.

About the Foundation of Light
Proceeds from Yard Nine are donated to SAFC's official charity, Foundation of Light.
Over 20 years, the Foundation has supported over half a million people across the North East by tackling some of the region's biggest challenges including unemployment, anti-social behaviour and poor mental health.
