Roundup: April at the Beacon

Take a look back at everything that has gone on in April at the Beacon of Light...

Yard Nine

The Beacon of Light has welcomed a new addition that promises not only a delightful culinary experience, but will also have an impact on the local community. 'Yard Nine’ the brand-new café inspired by Sunderland's shipyards and rich industrial history, opened its doors earlier this month.  The name pays homage to the city’s shipbuilding traditions, with the Beacon of Light’s location situated by shipyard number nine of the 76 based along the River Wear.

Family Fun Day

Foundation of Light’s Family Fun Day saw a jam-packed day of sports, play, and activity during the Easter holidays, welcoming 1,500 people through the doors throughout the day.

Believe

Foundation of Light is launched its dedicated women’s mental health group, Believe. The initiative marks a significant milestone for the Foundation as this is the first group of its kind in addressing the mental health needs of women in our community. The group, titled ‘Believe’ aims to provide a safe and supportive space for women to openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and triumphs.
