The Beacon of Light’s Yard Nine café is giving their support to the Foundation of Light’s Community Club teams.
The Beacon of Light has hit a slam dunk in securing the services of Dr Dish!
The number-one selling shooting machine is available to use for free at the Beacon and opens up a whole new dynamic for anyone wanting to play basketball.
The Dr Dish machine can be used for casual solo play, a bit of friendly competition with the multi-player mode, or training to hone your skills.
The machine is included with all half court bookings until Friday 26 April for anyone wanting to give it a go!
The user-friendly basketball training machine is used by the some of the best players in the world and has over 250 interactive drills and workouts to try.
Beacon of Light General Manager, Jemma Dowson said: “Basketball has always proved popular at the Beacon. It’s great to be able to offer our customers the chance to use the Dr Dish machine.”
The Dr Dish machine is free until 26 April when booking half-court basketball.

The Beacon of Light will host a dedicated Remembrance Day Fan Zone ahead of Sunderland AFC’s match against Coventry City.
Baroness Estelle Morris of Yardley, a trustee of Sunderland AFC’s official charity, took part in the conference and called the Beacon ‘a fantastic building’ adding that ‘what happens here is absolutely key.’
