Or if you need some convincing, here are five reasons why you should join us at Family Fun Day:

Be Active

Summer should not be spent behind a screen. Keeping children active during the summer months is crucial for their physical health and overall well-being.

Family Fun Day gives children a chance to get out of the house, keep active, and take part in some activities.

Something for everybody

Whether your child is a future sporting superstar or a creative whizzkid, our Family Fun Day offers something for everybody.

Alongside our varied sporting stations, which includes disability multisport, other activities are bouncy castles and soft play, cupcake decorating, UV dance party, and arts and crafts.

Uncover a new passion

With such a varied programme of sports and activities on offer, you never know what could capture your child’s attention.

Whether it’s a love of cooking and baking in our Ministry of Food kitchen, or a new sport such as basketball or badminton, your child could find a new hobby to last a lifetime.

Help the Foundation of Light

All proceeds from the Beacon of Light are donated back to the Sunderland AFC's official charity, Foundation of Light, to support communities across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham to live healthier, happier lives.

Here is how your donations can help:

  • £5 would pay for a young person with a disability access to a sports session
  • £8 pays for an older person to attend activities to stay socially active and improve physical and mental wellbeing
  • £40 will pay for a young person to have access to sessions supporting their physical, mental, and emotional health
  • £100 allows us to develop mental health resources to support up to five people
